How it Works

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORs, do you have what it takes to earn a wendy’s high school heisman scholarship?

Eligibility begins with maintaining a GPA of 3.0 (B average) or better. Applicants also need to be proven leaders and role models within their school and community. And applicants must perform in at least one of the 47 school sponsored sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations.

Scholarship Levels

  • 1
    State Winners: $1,000 Scholarship

    A $1,000 college scholarship will be awarded to one senior male and one senior female from each state, as well as a silver medal and a Wendy's High School Heisman State Winner patch.*

    *The 90 State Winners who do not move on to the National Finalist round will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

    National Finalists: $5,000 Scholarship

    The judging panel will select 10 National Finalists from the 100 State Winners, made up of five senior males and five senior females from each of the five geographic Heisman regions. National Finalists receive a $5,000 college scholarship, as well as an invitation to the Wendy’s High School Heisman Weekend in New York City, a gold medal and a Wendy's High School Heisman National Finalist Heisman patch.*

    *The 8 National Finalists who do not move on to the National Finalist round will receive a $5,000 scholarship.

    National Winners: $10,000 Scholarship

    The judging panel will select one senior male and one senior female from the 10 National Finalists as Wendy’s High School Heisman National Winners. National Award Winners will receive a $10,000 college scholarship, as well as national honor and recognition during ESPN’s national telecast of the college Heisman Memorial Trophy presentation, a Wendy’s High School Heisman Trophy and a Wendy's High School Heisman National Winner patch.

IT’S EASy TO APPLY

The Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship application has two phases to make it easy to complete and submit. The first 1,000 applicants to submit an application will also receive a $10 Wendy’s gift card.

Phase 1 of the application is where you can provide information about your academic performance, athletic achievements and community involvement. Phase 2 of the application, which has a later deadline, includes essay questions and allows you to provide supporting information about your achievements.

Wendy’s High School Heisman uses five geographic regions. Two National Finalists—one senior male and one senior female—will be selected from each of the five Wendy’s High School Heisman regions.

Phase 1 Application Closes

Don’t miss your chance to participate in the 2017 Wendy’s High School Heisman Scholarship.

Students must submit Phase 1 of their application by 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET in order to be considered. It’s best to complete your application as early as possible to give your reviewer adequate time to submit their review.
