Wendy’s® High School Heisman® scholarships will be awarded to State Winners, National Finalists and National Winners. All scholarship winners must meet all the rules of the Wendy’s High School Heisman application process.
Scholarship winners can attend any accredited college or university in the United States. The scholarship is not restricted to any specific institution.
Scholarship winners must plan to be enrolled full time (a minimum of 12 hours per semester or quarter) for the entire 2018-2019 academic year.
Scholarships are not renewable and are for one year only.
Scholarship funds may only be used toward educational expense: tuition, books and fees.
The one time award stipend will be paid in one installment for a full academic year. The check will be issued to the college/university and mailed directly to the student at the beginning of the support period. The student will be responsible for forwarding the check to their college/university.
Other awards may be accepted by recipients of Wendy’s High School Heisman scholarships. There will ordinarily be no objection to the acceptance of additional awards.
If the recipient does not enroll for the 2018-2019 academic year, the unused portion of the funds will be forfeited. Any funds forfeited will be returned to the Wendy’s High School Heisman program.
Exceptions may be considered on an individual basis if the forfeiture stems from illness, hardship, family tragedy, or similar reasons and is solely the decision of the Wendy’s High School Heisman program.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman program reserves the right to alter scholarship funds distribution as needed.
Should a scholarship recipient choose to delay schooling and pursue military service, funds may be deferred for educational use at later time. Requests must be made in writing to Wendy’s High School Heisman (email is acceptable), must detail the time period of deferral and must be approved in advance. All deferral requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Wendy’s High School Heisman program.
Further questions about scholarships, eligibility and athletic compliance can be addressed by contacting Wendy’s at firstname.lastname@example.org or 800-205-6367.

The Application Process
A student may begin the application process by clicking Apply Now in the header of the website to be redirected to the application website.
Students will enter their email address and be prompted to provide some basic account information and create a username and password for their application.
If deemed eligible, students should then select “Begin Application” to complete the rest of the student profile section.
Once a complete profile is created, the student’s unique application ID will appear at the top of his/her application by their name. It is important to retain this number for prospective customer service inquires.
Eligible students may then continue to fill out Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the application. Phase 1 of the application is the part of the application that is scored by Scholarship America to determine school winners through state winners. Phase 2 consists of essays and must be completed by all state winners. Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined will help the national committee determine both our 10 national finalists and 2 national winners.*
Phase 1 of the application consists of the blue tabs: Profile, School, Academics, Athletic Activities, School Activities and Community Involvement, Reviewer, Phase 1 Certification, and Phase 1 Submit. Phase 1 of the application is required to be reviewed and accepted by a school official.
Phase 2 of the application consists of the red tabs: Essay Questions, Supporting Information, Phase 2 Certification, and Phase 2 Submit. Phase 2 of the application will not be submitted for review by a school official. Once Phase 2 of the application is completed and submitted no further action is required for Phase 2.
Students may navigate the various sections of the application using tabs located at the top of the application after the student profile is created. If the student misses a required section, he/she will receive an error message and will not be able to submit their application until the required information is entered.
Students must provide an accurate email address of the school official who will login to review Phase 1 of the application and its contents, and confirm its accuracy. This school official cannot be related nor a parent/guardian of the student.
Students may login to their accounts as often as needed prior to the Phase 1 and Phase 2 deadlines, or until their application has been submitted. Students will need to retain their username and password to login again.
After Phase 1 is submitted or after the Phase 1 deadline of October 2, students will not be able to access Phase 1 of the application. Phase 2 of the application will remain open until Phase 2 is submitted, or until the Phase 2 deadline of October 23.
