Update: Angela is currently a sophomore at Stanford University studying Human Biology with a focus in Brain and Behavior. She is also on the Varsity Women's Swim Team where she swims distance freestyle. Last year as a freshman, Angela placed 9th, 11th, and 25th in the 1650 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 400 individual medley, respectively at the Pac-10 Championships. At Stanford, Angela is a member of the Colleges Against Cancer organization where we put on fundraising events for all types of cancer around campus. She is also a mentor for freshman student-athletes with a program called Partners for Academic Excellence II and is a member of Cardinal Life, a religious group for athletes, on campus. What did winning the Heisman mean to you? "Winning the Wendy's High School Heisman was the most memorable weekend and award I have experienced thus far in my life. The award recognized all of my accomplishments, dedication, and hard work through high school that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. It was remarkable to be associated with the previous winners and hear about their astonishing accomplishments. It was an honor to be mentioned with the previous winners." What advice do you have for this year's finalist and their families? "My advice for this year's finalists and their families is to enjoy the weekend! It is something you will never forget because of the outstanding people you will meet and the opportunities that are presented to you. Realize that you are among the most accomplished student-athletes in the entire country. Learn from the other finalists. Win or lose, you are an amazing individual that has accomplished so much as a high school student. Finally realize how cool it is to be sitting at the Heisman ceremony and meeting the Heisman finalists; it is only a dream to millions of people and you are living it."

Update: I am a sophomore at Princeton University where I compete in cross country and track. I am undecided in academic major. I am involved in leading one of the ministry groups on campus. This past summer I lived and worked in Melbourne, Australia doing campus ministry work at australian universities. What did winning the Heisman mean to you? "Not so much winning the Wendy's High School Heisman, but being part of the program was incredibly rewarding. This award is a way to recognize the pinnacle of high school achievement for student-athletes, so it was such an honor to be invited to take part. Actually winning the award was a tremendous bonus. Furthermore, it has inspired and reminded me to continue to work hard and value education, athletics, and community." What advice do you have for this year's finalist and their families? "Enjoy every moment of this incredible weekend. Get
to know the other finalists who each have unique and incredible
experiences. Talk to and share with everybody you can this
weekend, as I'm sure you will find there are so many incredible
people associated with the Wendy's High School Heisman program.
Finally, be proud of all that you've achieved and how you
have represented your family, friends, schools, and communities."
