What did winning the Heisman mean to you?

"It's funny how much being a part of the Wendy's High School Heisman program has meant to me since winning (several) years ago. You became a part of a family of some of the most wonderfully talented, genuine, and unique people. Because of the amazing people you share the experience with, you are forever invested in its success and upholding those "Heisman" statutes of excellence in your everyday life. It definitely makes a life-long lasting impact."

What advice do you have for this year's finalist and their families?

"Enjoy every second of this weekend. While only a few days, Heisman Weekend will be one of the greatest memories you'll create and will stay with you for a very long time. Take the time to talk and get to know your fellow finalists; they'll become lifelong friends. Spend some time with the Heisman Alumni because we want to get to get to know you too. Most of all, use the opportunity to take the time to thank your parents, coaches, teachers, and the people who made it possible for you to be here and enjoy this success."

&
Robert Huefner

Update: Robert is currently a 1st Lieutenant deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is serving as an Infantry Specialty Platoon Leader in command of over 50 Soldiers located on a Forward Operating Base south of Baghdad. Robert also serves as the Key Leader Engagement Officer for his battalion. This means that he meets with local Iraqi Sheiks, Governors, and Generals to discuss and report significant events occurring within his battalion's area of operations. Upon his return to the United States next fall, Robert plans to apply to graduate school. Most of all, he wants to express his disappointment at missing this amazing weekend for the first time and to say hi to his Wendy's Heisman Family!

What did winning the Heisman mean to you?

"Winning the Wendy's High School Heisman will always be an amazing memory, and hopefully one that I will be able to keep revisiting each December! I especially like the nature of the award, since it exemplifies not just excellence in one aspect of life but instead rewards the exceptionally well-rounded individual. Being a past WHSH winner continues to motivate me to try and achieve that high standard in all that I attempt to accomplish."

What advice do you have for this year's finalist and their families?

"My advice to this year's finalists and their families would simply be this: HAVE FUN! Don't sweat it, since you're already at Heisman Weekend. Just make friends and try to take it all in! Oh, and if you are lucky enough to be the one selected as this year's national winner - Don't forget to thank Wendy's!"
