Update: Sarah graduated from medical school at East Tennessee State University's Quillen College of Medicine, finished her residency at Wake Forest University and is currently working in their Greensboro facility in Emergency Medicine. She keeps very busy these days as a full time doctor and mother to her new baby girl, Maya Camille. What did winning the Heisman mean to you? "Winning the award at the time, showed me that being a good, hard working person could open doors that you never imagined. I think the award is a positive influence on young people that reaffirms in their lives that being the best you can be will help you the rest of your life. As an athlete it makes you feel like all those hours where worth it." What advice do you have for this year's finalist and their families? "This weekend is a great time for the applicants and families to become closer and look back over their 16 year together and say thank you to each other."

Update: After graduating from high school, Blake played football at both Snow College and Utah State University. He spent two years serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Seoul, South Korea. Blake then studied Science and Business at the University of Utah. In August 2005, Blake graduated and began a career in medical sales. He has transitioned that career into working for a plethora of medical sales firms in the international business development sector. He currently lives in San Francisco where he gets to travel to and from Singapore and other areas of Asia quite frequently. What did winning the Heisman mean to you? "Winning the High School Heisman solidified the importance of always trying to become a well rounded individual. When the late Dave Thomas crafted this award program I believe he may have had that in mind. I think it is essential for the development of kids of all ages to expose themselves to as many positive aspects of life. The categories of academics, citizenship, and athletics could not have been more appropriately chosen, and as I move through life, the benefits of having multiple interests has been something I truly value." What advice do you have for this year's finalist and their families? "Instead of expressions of gratitude to the parents and wishes of congratulations to the finalists - switch it up... Parents you've done an incredible job raising these well rounded kids and should be congratulated. Finalists you should be thanked for being such good kids and I'm going to assume fairly easy to raise. Enjoy!"
